Kim's love for the game developed in high school and that zeal carried her to Warner Pacific College in 1984 as a DS.
Kim moved to Placerville in 1991 and began coaching boys volleyball at El Dorado High School. She went on to take the girls 13’s club at Gold Trail (Gold Cal), moving on to Freshman girls at El Dorado High. Kim coached the JV and Freshman boys team at Union Mine in 2008 and assisted Julie Dewater with our 12-1’s Black team this past year.
Kim is passionate about developing young athletes from the “inside out”. She believes this happens as each unique talent is recognized and refined through dedication and hard work. Kim feels that communication is the key to successful coaching and challenges herself to communicate effectively to her players. She values discipline, commitment and “team play”, on and off the court. Kim has also been known to compete and expects that each player contribute their best resulting in a stellar “team effort”.
Her enthusiasm for the game is supported by her husband Steve and three children. Her sons, Kalib and Logan attend Vista Del Lago and daughter, Faith attends Folsom Middle. You’ll find Kim supporting her kids at their sporting events usually spear heading the noise from the stands. Kim is very involved with her church family and volunteers her time with the youth at Metro Calvary.
